Newark Shared Parenting Lawyer

There is a growing trend for the Court to promote shared parenting between parents when it is in the children's best interest. Shared parenting primarily deals with the decision-making process for rearing the children, but also addresses where the children will attend school, when each parent will have time with the children, child support, medical insurance and uncovered medical expenses, tax exemptions and child tax credits.

Shared parenting is an attempt to involve both parents in the parenting responsibilities and to maximize each parent's relationship with the children. If you have questions, reach out to attorney Carl McCoy.

Developing Shared Parenting Plans in Ohio

Shared parenting is often agreed to between the parents. Where it is not agreed, a Shared Parenting Plan must be filed with the Court at least thirty (30) days prior to a final hearing in order to be considered.

Attorney Carl McCoy can help you formulate a plan that is in the children's best interest and that complies with the local rules and Ohio statutes.

If you have questions regarding shared parenting or any related matter, we can address them during a free consultation, either over the phone or in our Newark office. Call 740-345-4545 or email us to schedule an appointment.
